Thinking about windsurfing in Amsterdam

I visited Amsterdam twice in the last year. In total I spent 10 days there, and while my time didn't include any windsurfing, I did think about our sport a fair bit.

On my first visit, the first day I was there I saw a YPSI Wayler tied to the side of the canal. I had to get a photo of that - the predecessor of the first board I ever owned - and I still own it.

An original YPSI Wayler. I have the 2nd gen version that had footstraps.
It would make a pretty good SUP in the canals.
Then we were asked to write why we like sailing on the whiteboard at the Amsterdam Boat Show. I had to write something about Kona sailing, as the Kona worlds were starting 100 km south of Amsterdam the day we were leaving.

I love sailing Kona One - my addition to the Dutch Boat Show
9 Months later in May 2016 I was back in Amsterdam to pick up my son. I had to take pictures of the other windsurf boards I saw in the Canal.

Using old windsurfers as tenders in Amsterdam canals.

www.rowsurfer.com can change a windsurfer into a rowing skiff

Someday we'll need to come back and have some more adventures in Amsterdam.

Canals are fun!
