After a few days in the city, I booked Friday off as it was my 30th work anniversary. Quite a career milestone. I also knew it was supposed to be windy, so we packed a full carload and headed up with the early long weekend traffic.
I got on the water around 3pm and windsurfed with the Idol 5.6 and Skate 108. Wonderful session and Scott was on his Jetski and shot some awesome video footage which I will add sometime when I have better Wifi.
I was fully powered and then eventually overpowered. One hour and 24.5 km feeling like it has been a long time since being on a shortboard. I stayed dry in my shorty for quite a while, but wasn't trying any tricks. I did do one nice carve 360 right in front of Scott's camera. I really should start trying some shove its. The nice sun shining through the back of the waves reminded me of late day sessions at Doug's Beach in the gorge.
A nice highlight of the day though was seeing Phillip head out with the 4.7 Duke on the Techno 148. He windsurfed out to the wind line without falling, sheeted in and was off and planing. I got a few shots as he came in to change down to the 4.2! His mom was impressed by how well he can waterstart.
