Sunset Point Beach is 12 minutes away from home. So when people started asking about maybe going to the beach, I checked the wind which wasn’t really expected to build, and sure enough there were 10-12 knots on iWindsurf.
I piled the 7m wing and my Fanatic Sky foilboard in the car and we headed to the beach. I rigged up quickly and put on my 4/3 wetsuit in the 19c air. Paid the $7.50 for parking.
I wasn’t sure it was going to work but I wanted to get to know the launch as I’d only been there that once 2 weeks ago. This session was short but much better.
I taxied out a bit and then pumped like crazy and finally got going. 3 nice gibes in a row and then I lost speed after my 4th. A fair bit of taxiing and then 3 more short runs. I called it a successful session as I got up foiling, my knee didn’t bother me, and we made it to my niece’s place in time for dinner. Sweet!
