Foiling around C&L‘s island

After so many days of heat, the strong NE wind made things a lot cooler.

Relaxing and warming up at the Launch Pad
in my comfy sweats after my 78 minute session.

Earlier in the day we took a boat ride to the French River to do some swift water rescue training. The wind was still strong on the ride back, so I got dropped off at the Launch Pad to get my fix.

Boat ride to the French River rapids

Google earth of the French River rapids earlier in the day..

I headed out on the 5.4 Duke with the Stingray 140 with the 99 cm foil. The gusty wind ensured I got on the foil each run. I had several successful jibes. The water was so warm (guessing 28c?) that I didn‘t mind falling in. Which I did a lot unsuccessfully trying carving 360s.

There were so many NE gusts that I was able to tack upwind and saw my friend Cary waving from his deck. We chatted a bit and then I headed around his island which I‘ve never done before.

Some nice jibes and then upwind and back down the channel
of an island I‘ve never windsurfed around

Kept it up on the 99cm foil for most of the first few km…

A bit of a surprise session really as I hadn‘t expected the wind to last.Looks like a bit more wind predicted in the next few days…
