Fun teaching and painting at the Launch Pad

We had great visitors to the Launch pad over the Civic holiday weekend. On Saturday it was beginner lesson time.

Chris did great on the simulator! And being a pilot, he also was impressive on the Viper 80 with the 4.2 Duke sail in the moderate winds. He had a great sense of when the angle of attack was too steep and the sail began to stall. He kept his hand on the mast properly while sailing for the whole lesson. So by releasing his back hand when needed for balance, he didn't fall in too much. That being said, he did admit to being a bit sore the next day.

While we were on the point, a nice crew was painting the side of the Launch Pad sail locker. Soon it will be a very recognizable logo!

Nice circle!
Part 1 complete!
On Sunday, it was the local association meeting and BBQ.

After that, Vanessa, Len and I headed out late in the day for some light wind freestyle.

Two thirds of the light wind crew heading out
Not enough wind to foil, so duck tacks, upwind 360s, switchstance sailing and general fanciness were on order. Good times having 3 sails on the water at the same time.
