It was a remarkably warm mid September day and so we headed out to the Launch Pad together for some windsurfing. The SE wind was nice and I decided to try the Fanatic Skate 108 and 5.6 Idol.
We walked out to the point to make the launch nice and easy. Jen went on the Fanatic Viper 80 and the 4.7 Duke. She seemed skeptical at first but got going very nicely.
Jen getting ready - ish
Warmer outside than in! And the water was 20c!
Decent wind for our sessions
When I got out to Dead Island I figured that was far enough!
First part of the session was the fastest...
Next I decided to try the Fanatic Sky 125 and Duotone Slick 5.0 next. I had an ok time launching from the point and heading out and back. The sanding I did on the foil seems to have quieted it a bit, will want to get some 1200 grit paper next.
I must have turned off the old Garmin 810xt watch by accident when I fell off the wing foil...
Pretty slow on the wing foil
Overall it was a challenging session. I had installed the footstraps in the middle position but they seem to far back. I'll adjust the foil forward a bit but as it was just my 4th time on the board and my 1st time on that board with footstraps I think I've got some learning to do.
We had a nice sailboat anchored in the harbour behind us.
Looks like a couple of good days coming up next week for my "Hatteras" guys. But always sweet to get out on the water with my sweetheart.
